Description holdfast 2003-09-30 23:51:24 UTC
In any place in OOO where units of measurement are used the metric ones are
consistently spelt wrongly.
For example in the Options for TextDocument/General, Spreadsheet/General,
presentation/general and Drawing/General the options for units of length include
Millimeter, Centimeter, Meter and Kilometer. The correct spelling for these is
Millimetre, Centimetre, Metre and Kilometre.

This is just American English used. Just like center (American) and
centre (British). So, it's not a wrong spelling at all.
To make sure, you can use the dictionary at www.onelook.com, which
would lookup the words in almost 1000+ other online dictionaries in
different fields.

It may be normal usage in the USA but that does not make it correct.
It should be changed.

native-lang is not the appropiate place for this issue. Reassigning to the
Localization project (l10n).
