Severity: Trivial

Issue Type: ENHANCEMENT Latest Confirmation in: ---
Developer Difficulty: ---

Description osavill 2002-06-19 14:38:04 UTC
If a print job is sent when lpd is not running OO very informatively outputs :
 connecting to 'localhost', attempt 1
cannot open connection to localhost - No such file or directory
Make sure the remote host supports the LPD protocol
and accepts connections from this host and from non-privileged (>1023) ports

Unfortunately this message goes to the launching console :-)

Wouldn't it be better / nicer to pop up a dialog ?

TM->FT: A new popup-dialog to be implemented seems to be more an
enhancement than a bug to me. Please have a look, thanks !

Display error message in case of missing or defect perinting queues
(lpr) in a pop-up dialogue instead of sending this error message to
the console.

To grep the issues easier via "requirements" I put the issues currently lying on
my owner to the owner "requirements".
