Description raindrops 2006-04-12 16:45:03 UTC
The shadow of an object is always hard (its transparency can be changed, but not
the sharpness of its edge).

Let there be an option to cast a diffused shadow, as if caused by a diffused
light source (such as a tubelight).

The edge of the diffused shadow should be blurred, so that it gradually merges
with the background. Provide a variable (spinner) control to change this
diffusion distance from 0 to some maximum value.

(This suggestion may belong to common framework actually.)

See sample (created with GIMP)

Hi. I try to provide more examples.

The attached jpeg shows the effect I wish to create, the attached odg shows the
effect I actually created. See how much better is "the effect I wish to create"

Hi. It would be really great to produce those soft-shadows with OOo (esp. with
Impress and Writer). I think that looks much more professional than the solid
shadows.

I think that the feature you require to be implementer into open office is
called "soft shadows"
