Reproducable in Writer also The crash happens in the Acroread plugin library, and it is reproducible even in OOo1.1.5. So it looks more like a problem of the new Acroread implementation. Anyway we should try to workaround it if it is possible. Created attachment 41542 [details]
a stack with more debug information
Currently it is not clear how to workaround the problem. Changin the target. *** Issue 73219 has been marked as a duplicate of this issue. *** Retargeted to 2.3 as this is easily to reproduce and not only limited to Impress but the whole Office. The crash happens in OOo1 and in OOo2. The crash happens with AR 7.0.4 but not with AR 6.x. Most probably this is a bug of the Acrobat Reader 7 plugin. Perhaps someone could test with a newer version of Acrobat Reader. target 3.x Issue : Crash when inserting an object plugin of pdf format. Reproduced: Not repeatable ( FIXED ) Configuration Used : OS -> Windows Vista RAM Used -> 4 GB Build Used: OpenOffice Version 3.3.1 Steps Followed: 1. Create a new document. 2. Use Insert->Object->Plug-In to insert a PDF document. 3. In the opened browse dialog there is no option of selecting PDF file format It only allows plugin of type "Yahoo Application state Plugin" . 4. So I was not able to select the pdf format was not able to reproduce the issue. Comments: 1> Not allowing Pdf file format might be the fix for the issue observed therefore the issue seems to be fixed. 2> Its showing me only one plugin becuase thats the only 1 plugin installed on my system. Additional Comments: a> Since I was not able to select the pdf plugin from the open dialog thereofore I entered the location of a pdf object in the File/URL textbox and tried to open it. b> I was able to insert the pef object sucessfully but instead of the original pdf object the image ok plugin was displayed. c> I was also able to save the text dosument of file type *.odt. d> I was also able to reopen the file and view the image of plugin. e> Throughout the whole process I never saw any crash. Reset assigne to the default "issues@openoffice.apache.org". |
