Table test document, export Powerpoint 2007
pl->sj: more tags for draw/impress PDF export ? No, not *more* tags, better structured tags! I've included two documents with similar content. One created with PowerPoint 2007 and one created with Impress. Both then exported to pdf. Just open the documents with Acrobat (not Acrobat Reader) and compare the tag structure. The one created with PP is much better structured, for example a slide-tag (for each slide), containing all the content of one slide. The table is tagged as <table>, not as <figure>, that is what Impress does. The PD-Format offers many different types of tags to structure a document. This is essential for the accessibility of a pdf document. accepted Just some more information on this issue... For an overview of the tags available in pdf: http://www.adobe.com/enterprise/accessibility/pdfs/acro7_pg_ue.pdf Another issue is the inavailability of an alt-text for images in Impress. alt-texts are essential for the accesibility and supported in Writer, but not in Impress. So alt-text should be available for drawings, too. And the alt-text should be exported to the pdf-version of the presentation. This might be another issue, but is also important for better pdf export. The last thing that comes to my mind is that the heading of each slide should/could be used for bookmarks. This is essential to the accessibility of a pdf document. With these enhancements the pdf export of OOo could be near to full accessible!? I'm available for testing purpose, if needed. I do not have enough time to fix this issue for OOo2.3, so I change the target to OOo2.4 I am sorry, I have to retarget this issue again. changed target |
