The xls file is inside this zip file
@fred_m the zip file seems to be corrupted as i cannot open it on debian linux, please upload again i mean please upload the original document in uncorrupted state Hi Brian, This is the problem. When you tried to unzip the file you got a CRC error, but a XML file was generated. Try to open it, and you will see the problem. The usages of hardware resources will be increase a lot. @fred: i can confirm the hang with m233. @spreadsheet-team: Loading a corrupted file into SO results in hang. Is there a chance for improved sanity checking? User email-received a corrupted zip containing a xls. As the zip is still inflatable the problem arises. [debian stable, UnZip 5.52 of 28 February 2005, by Debian. Original by Info-ZIP.] Archive: 14965.zip error [14965.zip]: missing 1 bytes in zipfile (attempting to process anyway) error [14965.zip]: attempt to seek before beginning of zipfile (please check that you have transferred or created the zipfile in the appropriate BINARY mode and that you have compiled UnZip properly) (attempting to re-compensate) inflating: Lista de Preco 20071010 1005.xls bad CRC eddc2791 (should be 3d042592) Someone with confirm IZ privileges please just push the button. I am still in learning stage. Brian Hi, this is not a defect of Calc but an enhancement request. Opening of corrupted files should not loop the Office but trying to open a file which is known as corrupt isn't a good idea too. Tried to open the ZIP with WinZip and can't. So this archive is entirely broken and you can't expect to get a valid file from it. BTW the contained file isn't a XLS but a HTML file saved by Excel which isn't the same. @daniel As discussed for improving the filters this one is yours. Frank title |
