I installed a lot of test extensions from desktop/test/deployment/update and
started the update procedure. After pressing the install button I waited until
all extensions where downloaded and the installation began. When I pressed the
abort button the office froze. I used a suse 10.1 vmware for the test.

Setting target to 2.4.

By the way, in my test I alway ran into a deadlock when canceling the
installation. This is also a regression.

After a first fix I noticed that the update now runs into a deadlock when
extensions are installed. This was also caused by the separate installation thread.
