Both 2.3.1 and 2.3.0 have this problem. I'm going to attach sample slide for
reproducing the issue. I tried 2.3.0 with both Linux and WinXP and 2.3.1 with
WinXP and the problem occurred in all 3 scenarios. 2.2.1 does not crash with
the same slide even though it does not display the slide correctly as would with
MS Powerpoint 2003, where the animation would infinitely repeats itself until
the presentation goes to the next slide. In 2.2.1, the animation would just
stop after playing it once.

Confirming with 2.4m241 on WinXP - open either of attached files, press F5 for
slideshow, click to begin. After certain time Office hungs, consuming 100% of
CPU cycles.

Keyword set, priority upped.

I can reproduce the bug.
It seems that the number of objects effects that the system slows down. When I
delete all objects but the animated group object the speed is ok.
The slide contains 35 objects. In my mind this number of objects should not slow
down the system.
Please have a look.
