Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 100253
Aqua: crash upon importing EPS
Last modified: 2013-08-07 15:20:06 UTC
Impress crashed upon importing an EPS generated by Inkscape. The EPS seems to be OK however, since it can be imported by Preview.app.
Created attachment 60966 [details] EPS that caused the problem (generated from open clipart).
Created attachment 60968 [details] Crashdump as provided by OSX
Sorry, works here without a problem. Do you insert it using the button in the drawing toolbar? Which version of Mac OS do you use? Mine is version 10.5.6. Thanks in advance.
Hi, thanks for the quick reply! I did some additional tests for the attached EPS (inserting via the menu, NOT the button): Ooo 3.0.1 (300m15 Build 9379) crashes OS X 10.4.11 PPC, but works on 10.5.4 PPC Ooo 2.4.0 imports and prints correctly on OS X 10.4.11 PPC
There is already an internal task for this (158701) that I will close.
Can anyone reproduce this on Intel-Mac with an official build? Please provide the reportids which you'll get as a reply when you submit the crash report.
The stack for the internal task 158701 doesn't point anywhere near EPS-drawing but to somewhere into the overlay-manager. The issues are not related. So there are no reportids for this problem and it is not reproducible on other system => retargeting until this can be debugged
Hi, I'm not sure if this is the same issue, but OpenOffice 3.2 crashes every time I try adding a .eps file (created in Illustrator CS4) to 'my theme'. I'm working on a Mac OS 10.4.11. Sometimes the program 'unexpectedly quits', sometimes it just freezes the screen and I have to force quit. This has happened every time, I have never succeeded in importing a .eps to my theme. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you for a great program :)
@bl0nd1e: does this happen on a PPC or an Intel mac? Did the crash-reporter come up and did you send the report? If yes there should have been a reply which mentions the so-called reportid. Please provide it. Also the problematic EPS or even better a stripped down version of this EPS would be fine. Please attach it to this issue if possible.
might be fixed with cws impress200 *** This issue has been marked as a duplicate of 114123 ***
Yes, it looks like it is a duplicate to the solved issue 114123.
