Description jbf.faure 2009-05-03 13:23:22 UTC
Step to reproduce :
- open file generic_fr.ppt (see URL field) used for TCM tests
- go to slide #4
- the table on slide #4 can be selected by clicking inside the table (ok) but
also by clicking left outside the table (???)
- select the table by clicking left outside
- try to move the table ==> Crash

Crash confirmed on ubuntu 8.04 32 bits, Linux X64 and XP SP3.

Regards
JBF

Crash report ID : ru3p2vc.
Comment 2 merschmann 2009-05-03 21:35:01 UTC
Partly confirmed.
The left-outside selection appears also on my Kubuntu 9.04, but it does not
crash when the table is moved.
The selection worked as designed with OOO310m9 on XP -> regression
Comment 3 wolframgarten 2009-05-04 08:29:46 UTC
Partly confirmed, too. No crash but wrong selection handling as described
(OOO310_m11). Selection works on windows.
Comment 4 merschmann 2009-05-04 08:34:02 UTC
Works fine in my OOO310m11-de, selection and moving is fine.
Crashes OOO310m8 on XP.

Hello jbfaure, *,
interesting issue ... ;) I can confirm, that you can select the table either by
clicking left or additionally above. But I cannot confirm, that OOo crashes, if
you move the table around ... :(
Would you be so kind to test it either with a newer version of Ubuntu or with
OOO310m18 again, please? I have tested it with this version under Debian SID
AMD64 ... ;)
Have fun
Thomas.

I reproduce the crash with OOo 3.1.1 RC1 (FR) under Ubuntu 8.04
Crash report ID will follow when I would have received it.
The crash occurs after several moves. It seems you have to put the table
slightly outside the slide and put back inside to obtain the crash.

Hello jbfaure, *,
I still cannot reproduce this issue, sorry ... :( I have tried to move it in
different directions, dropped it somewhere, moved it again (also to the outside
of the slide), but to no avail (means: No crash). I have tested it with OOo
3.1.1RC2 under Debian SID AMD64. Just out of interest: Do you mean Ubuntu with
your entry "Linux X64" or was this a different distro? And which processor as
well graphics adapter do you have? I own an AMD X2 6000 and an NVidia 6150
graphics chip.
Have fun
Thomas.
Comment 9 jbf.faure 2009-08-26 08:37:29 UTC
Hi Thomas,

Linux-X64 is, in that case, a Mandriva distribution.
My PC is a Thinkpad X40 so I presume that the graphic card is Intel 855GM.
Processor is Pentium 4M at 1,4 GHz with 1 Go of RAM.

Hello jbfaure,
have you tested it with a newer version? And just out of interest: OOo is the
only program, which crashes on your system, isn't it? If some other prog crashes
as well, it could be a hardware prob as well ... I have not heard that good
about Thinkpads though ... :(
Have fun
Thomas.

Hi Thomas, thank you for the reminder :-)

I do not reproduce the crash with OOo 3.2 RC1 nor the selection by clicking
outside the table.
I will reinstall OOo 3.1.1 and test it again but if I remember well I do not
have the crash with this version too. I will confirm soon that.

JBF
Comment 12 jbf.faure 2009-12-27 18:47:04 UTC
Ok, I have reinstalled OOo 3.1.1 FR and I reproduced the crash :-( (crash report
sent to Sun).
I propose that I ask to QA-team FR to test on MS-Windows and Linux x64 with OOo
3.2 RC1. If no crash is reported, I will close this issue as "worksforme".

No crash confirmed with OOo 3.2 RC1 under Linux x64 and MS-Windows XP Pro SP3,
Vista and Seven (x64).
Closing as worksforme.
