Description fusero 2009-05-22 17:23:47 UTC
Impress takes too long to open some presentations. I attach two examples:

1) First one: 200 slides and takes 2 minutes and a half
2) Second one: 1000 slides and takes 10 minutes

Machine is a core 2 duo 2'16 Ghz with 2GB RAM.

Slides are not complex at all and the time that OO takes to open the odps is
too big for us.

The 200 slides presentation loads in less then 9 seconds here on different
machines. The 1000 slides file needs much longer, more or less 8 min.

Ok, it seems that in the case of the 1000-slides presentation the time
required to topen it depends on the power of the machine. But 8 minutes is
till too much...

I think that OO tries to load the file completely into memory. I have tried an
equivalent file with PowerPoint and it seems that it doesn't load the entire
file, it loads different parts of the file as they are needed.

Can i do something similar wiht OpenOffice?

We’ve tried version 3.2 and the error is still in there.
