Description jorgefm 2009-08-06 16:22:15 UTC
An excel file that is generated with a metadato process doesn't do well with
openoffice.
if we modify something the document it already works. It is well in the two
applications

the process is simple, alone it is necessary to open it with openoffice

Would you like giving us step-by-step descriptions?
Because when I download your attachment for this issue, OOo can open this file
well in DEV300m54 and OOo3.0

Amy2008, when the file is open with Calc it shows 11 rows in "Sociedad" sheet.
When it is open with MS Excel, the file shows much more rows and a chart.

The only step needed to reproduce the problem is to open the file.

Hope this helps.

jorgefm,
Sorry for my mistaking.
If I open the attachment file 'fire example.xls' with OOo3.1.1, indeed there
are only 11 rows in the file.
But if open the attachment with MS office 2003, there are 62 rows and a chart.
Can reproduce it.

Oliver,
Would you like checking it?
If I save the attachment as 'fire example 1.xls', then open it with MS office
2003, then an odd problem appears, contents in sheet _Hidden2 and sheet
Sociedad exchange. IMO, maybe this is the real reason for this issue.

Hi Daniel, please have a look
Comment 7 daniel.rentz 2009-09-15 09:14:24 UTC
Oh my... I have neverever seen that in a BIFF8 Excel file. The second sheet is
stored *before* the first sheet. Excel recognizes this with the stream indexes
stored in the SHEET records and reorders them on loading, but we always load the
sheets in order of appearence in the file. Therefore the contents of the hidden
second sheet are loaded into the first visible sheet, and vice versa.
Comment 8 daniel.rentz 2009-09-15 09:17:02 UTC
next question: why is it not possible to make the hidden sheet visible after
loading? This may be caused by trying to make the hidden sheet "active".
