OpenOffice lacks the support for OpenType fonts on MacOSX and supports only
Arabic AAT (Apple Advanced Technology) fonts.

The lack of supporting OpenType fonts causes the letters in Arabic words to
render as non-connected letters.

Although the same fonts used on other operating systems like OpenSolaris, Linux
and Windows, with OpenOffice render correctly.

Can you please add the capability of supporting Arabic OpentType fonts to
OpenOffice side by side with AAT fonts.

OpenOffice Version used is OOO310m11.

Most probably a duplicate to issue 97829 ("ATSUI lacks OpenType support"). As CoreText become available 
only with OSX10.5 and ATSUI is all there is for OSX 10.4 it cannot be fixed on pre-Leopard.

Closing it for now. Once issue 97829 is done ("avoid OSX's ATSUI API if possible => use OSX's CoreText 
API instead") the specific aspect of Arabic OpenType processing on OSX should be reexamined again.
