Description hughg 2009-09-02 21:52:28 UTC
Currently it is not possible to insert multiple indices, but only one "real"
index and additional custom indices.
The problem is that advanced formatting features like alphabetical delimiters
are only supported for the built-in index, but not for custom indices.

Please add the extra features from built-in indices to custom indices, too. So
users could create indices for several topics or languages (a common need for
translators when publishing their works) with advanced features and formatting
of normal indices.

Reassigned to requirements.

What's the current status of this issue? In ooo-dev 3.2m60 there're no changes
at all.

I'm really interested in this issue 'cause it's a blocking for a work I'm doing
(which needs 5 different alphabetical custom index).

I can supply a simple testcase to show how easilly this issue is a common
blocking and really needed (LaTeX do this quite good but I've some huge problems
with how it disposes objects in the output so I switched back to OOo).

See Issue 6401
Is a duplicate?
Comment 4 hughg 2010-06-07 16:41:53 UTC
yes, please mark as duplicate from #6401, which is open since 2003 btw...
I cannot find a way to resolve the bug myself, although I'm the reporter.
Sorry for the dup, I did search before but could not find any similar bug...
Comment 5 hughg 2010-06-07 16:49:23 UTC
ah, have to correct myself, as mba noted in bug #6401, these two are closely
related but not similar.
Maybe define this one as dependent on #6401?
