Description mp23 2009-09-06 05:29:21 UTC
Yesterday when I was running Leopard, OpenOffice.org was running fine as usual. Today, when I upgraded
to Snow Leopard, OpenOffice.org wouldn't open. It starts to open, and the icon appears on the Dock with
the light under it, but after about a minute it closes down. The loading screen or anything else doesn't
come up.

I looked on the OpenOffice.org site to see if there was a new version for Snow Leopard that I needed to
download. I saw that 3.1.1 was available and I had 3.1.0, so I downloaded the new version, but that didn't
fix anything. It still won't start.

I've been working on a project in OpenOffice.org and I'd like to get it to run as soon as possible. Thanks.

It has been working fine for me since August 28, the day I installed Snow
Leopard on two different Macs with OOo 3.1.1 RC2 and then OOo 3.1.1 Final. I am
using OOo 3.2 (developers build) now, without problems. Snow Leopard is in
English, OOo is in Italian.

Please try to run OOo from a terminal and then attach the output.

i.e. run /Applications/OpenOffice.org.app/Contents/MacOS/soffice from within the
terminal - that should at least give a hint why it is not working for you.

You might also try to move the user-profile away (~/Library/Application
Support/OpenOffice.org/3) or delete it if you didn't customize your installation
of OOo.

no response, other users don't have the problem → worksforme.
