Description Unknown 2001-06-19 04:50:38 UTC
Describes new features from May 2000-December 2001. We need to find a
prominent place to put this up on the site. Any bright ideas?

Grrr..
Comment 8 lsuarezpotts 2001-07-09 03:45:00 UTC
accepted.
Say, Michelle, are you using a different mode of attaching docs? I ask b/c lately the attachments have either only opened if the url is opened in SO 5.2 or if I sort of force it open using IE and SO. Previously, this was not the case.
Just curious. Louis

Hmmm, up until the other day (friday) I never knew there was any way other than
to submit a comment and then add a file after the fact. On Friday I discovered
that on this screen, 2 inches above where I'm typing now, there's a Create a new
attachment link. So on Friday I think I used this method for the first time. I
don't think I've ever seen it before so I don't think I've ever used it before
Friday.
Whew!

okay. but the reason I ask is because when I click on the link to the attachment, instead of seeing what I used to see, the attachment, my browser downloads "showattachment.cgi"--which could be a serious bug with IssueZilla (as you noted previously). So:
are you using SO to load the attachments? Were you using SO previously? Ie, what is different?
Comment 12 Unknown 2001-07-09 22:22:38 UTC
Hi,
I don't know what you mean by "using SO to load the attachment". The only
difference between Friday and every other day before that is that I found the
link on this page (the issue page) for the first time on Friday. I click on it,
it gives me a pathname, I click to the right path, click on the file, click open
or ok or whatever and a file is attached. This is the exact same thing that
happens when you submit a comment and then submit an attachment on that window
(the one you get after submit). The only difference is that one is from this
page and the other is from the submitted page where it tells you what number
your bug is.
I too have had to download attachments as showattachment.cgi. When you rename
them, they become unreadable.

Interesting. I mean, are you using StartOffice5.2 to navigate and load the attachments?
Comment 14 Unknown 2001-07-09 22:36:28 UTC
I still don't know how one would use StarOffice to load an attachment into
IssueZilla. Alls I can tell you is the description I just provided telling what
I'm doing. StarOffice is not in that picture anywhere.
:)

Fixed with 010617*.sdw and .pdf
Now the whitepapers page has to be updated...
And roadmap.sdw (all lowercase) can be cvs removed.
