Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 105186
PDF Export of text with SCALE TEXT not 100% fails
Last modified: 2009-11-02 14:53:43 UTC
I am running OOO310m19 (Build 9420) but this version does not appear in the "Found in version" pull down. I created a document in Writer with two short lines of Times New Roman text. I then selected one line of text and chose Format > Character > Position and I set SCALE WIDTH to 150%. I ticked PAIR KERNING. I then exported the file to a PDF using the PDF icon on the toolbar. Result The scaled text is not scaled and appears to have stayed at 100% - it occupies the correct position, but is squashed to the left instead of spreading out. Other factors 1 This worked OK in my earlier version of OO I was using until this release was brought out. WHen I use this release to export older documents, the Scaled Width text is now corrupted as above 2 When I print the odt file using PrimoPDF (a pdf file creator) the scaled text is correct. I believe this is a bug introduced into this release of Writer. The problem is easily reproduceable but I can supply a small file if required.
I can reproduce the problem with OOo on Fedora Linux, except the distorted appearance of the scaled text in the PDF is somewhat different than described above. PDF export of the same document works correctly for me in OOo 3.1, and in DEV300_m58, so it looks like the problem may have been addressed.
I checked with "Ooo 3.1.1 WIN XP DE-multilingual version German UI activated [OOO310m19 (Build 9420)]" and can confirm the reported effect, additionally with CALC. Print (with HP OJ6110) is not affected.
Same roots as Issue 104212?
When I open my test document with 2.4.1 and export to PDF, the PDF document looks perfect.
Seems to work nicely in DEV300m61 (more specifically in CWS vcl106) pl->hdu: is this perhaps a duplicate to an already fixed issue ?
Yes, issue 104212 looks related. It was fixed in CWS vcl104 for target OOo32. *** This issue has been marked as a duplicate of 104212 ***
Closing duplicate issue.
