Description maand 2009-09-26 13:14:16 UTC
I open an existing presentation on my Linux Box (openSuSE 11.1-x64, KDE 4.3.1)
with OOo 3.2 m60. Impress opens the presentation and freezes. I had to kill OOo
in a shell with Ctrl + C.
If I check the resources of my PC, I get with 97 or 98 % of cpu usage for OOo.
I tested OOo 3.2 m60 on my Laptop with a dual core with 2 Ghz.

Set keyword

Confirm on Apple OS X 10.6.1: Some existing PPT created by MS Office won't open
in Dev300_m60, give Beachball of Death after status bar "importing" has finished.

Creating a new (empty) PPT from OOo and open it works fine, so it seems not all
presentations are concerned.

Hello andreasma, *,
I have tested it with an PPT file (which I used to test with TCM in the past)
and I can confirm this issue with DEV300m60 under Debian SID AMD64 ... :( I got
50% cpu usage/core, so I had to kill OOo ... :(
Added oooqa keyword ... ;)
Comment 4 gghh 2009-09-26 18:11:13 UTC
I have the same problem using Ubuntu KDE 4.3.1
Comment 5 gghh 2009-09-26 20:59:32 UTC
I checked Windows XP same problem.

I changed OS from "Linux" to "All".

Also happens on Mac/PPC and not only with ppt documents.

Also reproducible with allshapes.odp from OOo's sources:

http://svn.services.openoffice.org/ooo/tags/DEV300_m60/testautomation/graphics/required/input/allshapes.odp

crash recovery (after forcefully killing OOo to end the endless cpu
consumption/freeze) also freezes/hangs with 100% after "restoring" (partially
loading) the documents.

add crash keyword, really set OS/Platfrom to ALL (confirmed on Windows, Linux, Mac)
Comment 7 lohmaier 2009-09-26 21:21:05 UTC
hmm - the allshapes.odp /might/ be another, older problem (doesn't load in 3.1.1
either) - but it definitely new with ppt files

So better try with
http://svn.services.openoffice.org/ooo/tags/DEV300_m60/testautomation/graphics/required/input/generic_de.ppt
instead.

af ,please have a look
Comment 12 groucho266 2009-09-28 14:36:40 UTC
There is a loop in the AnnotationManager.

@cl: please take over.
Comment 13 clippka 2009-09-28 15:21:30 UTC
mea culpa, made a typo while implementing the comments feature. It loops for
every document that has more than one master page.

So this should not only be a showstopper but also a beta blocker
Comment 14 clippka 2009-09-28 15:35:26 UTC
fixed in cws impressnotes03 for OOo 3.2
