Description dfortner 2009-10-15 16:44:49 UTC
I just wanted to make you aware that I have what appears to be a virus or adware
affecting my copy of OpenOffice. When typing in Writer there are many short
letter combinations (about 3 letters each) that cause email address to be
suggested as the autofill word. I investigated a few of these and they all seem
to be sketchy websites none of which I have any prior knowledge of so the have
no business autofilling for me... I've never encountered this sort of behavior
before with OO in my 3 years using the program which is why I believe it is some
form of malware. I have no idea where I may have received it. I'm currently
cleaning my computer of malware, I hope that this isn't a widespread problem.

The words used for the "Automatic word completion" are collected throughout
opened documents. Could you please check, if these may be have been collected
from the one or other document you recently have opened?

MRU->SBA: are these word temporarily stored in a certain file?

I believe that this was probably the case, I had a few files open that thinking
back may have contained the addresses, also I haven't had the "problem" since I
reported it. Sorry for the false alarm.
