Description redflagzhulihua 2009-10-21 06:22:34 UTC
1. Input several paragraph of texts
2. Select them all and apply a character format, for example: Blod
3. Click paintbrush button in the toolbar (paragraphs still remain selected)
4. Click anywhere outside the text area in the page

result: character format of the last paragraph has gone.

Cannot reproduce with OOO320m2 on Vista.

What about specifying your system, the OOo version, attach a sample document?

Ok I *can* reproduce something like that which is not directly that what you
describe:
1-3 same as described
4. clic in the margin in front of any of the selected paragraphs
-> this paragraph gets resetted to the default formatting.

Is it what you mean?

If yes, I don't know if it a bug or a feature...

Hi es,

Yes, it is. I always clicked below the text area, so always changed the last
paragraph.
I reproduced this in both windows and linux.
Thank for the new discovery.

Best regards,
Lihua

This is apparently the same root cause as Issue 83535.

2 things:
- by default, the paintbrush function copies the character AND paragraph attributes.
- if you don't "paint" the target (selecting) you will only see the paragraph
changes.

There is not reset if you make Ctrl+Click (no paragraph attributes)

Please see the thread "Issues about paintbrush" in discuss@ux.openoffice.org.

We need to re-think this behavior.
