Description tloehr 2010-02-02 16:14:25 UTC
Usually (which is also the default setting) the shortcut for selecting to the beginning of a line is "shift-
home" or vice versa to the end of a line is "shift-end". In the current productive mac version this is also
shown in the options of OOO, but the actual reaction is to mark to the beginning/end of the FILE. Which is
very annoying.

Can this be changed ?

It's so on OOo fof Windows or Linux yes. OOo for Mac respect the Apple Human
Guidelines. The Key combination wath you search is cmd + shift + Left Arrow /
right arrow.

so, this issue is invalid

I am sorry to comment on this again. But using the cmd+shift+left / right arrow marks wordwise, NOT
to the beginning of a line.

The Apple Human Interface Guideline states that

cmd+shift+left/right: "Extend selection to the previous semantic unit, typically the beginning/end of
the current line."

and that

alt+shift+left/right: "Extend selection to the beginning/end of the current word, then to the
beginning/end of the previous/next word."

In OOo these two keyboard shortcuts behave the same way. This may sound a little petty minded, but
these to keystroke combinations are beneath the most used ones. And this behavior really slows me
down in my daily work with the writer.
