Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 110118
Some numeral are badly printing after pdf export
Last modified: 2010-04-13 09:13:57 UTC
Hello, I created document with Impress with several mathematical formula. When I export this presentation document to pdf, I noted that some numeral are badly printing in the final pdf document. This phenomenon is ramdom, that is to say it is not the same numerals which are badly converted after pdf export. These numerals are always into formula box. You can see this pdf file to illustrate my problem : http://www.toofiles.com/fr/oip/documents/pdf/bogue.html You can see problem at the page number 15. I cannot reproduce this problem with small document so I think problem exists only for big document. I also noted that problem exists with text document (odt).
Which Linux are you using? Is this an original version from OOo or from some other distributor? Would it be possible to attach the document? Thanks.
I use Mandriva 2010.0 64-bits and OO.o version packaged by my distribution. I will try to export to pdf my document on Windows with OO.o 3.2 to see if problem exists also. Which file do you want I attach (pdf, odp)? Both files weigh about 8 Mio
It would be interesting to have the odp file attached. If possible please strip it down to slide 15, then the size should be ok.
I upload my odp file on rapidshare here: http://rapidshare.com/files/363564921/pr__sentation_M2_pdf_en.odp.html I upload full file because problem is not always for page 15. You can generate pdf with this file and see that problem is random.
I tested with OO.o 3.2 on Windows and I do not succeed to generate wrong pdf. So, I think problem does not exist with Windows or with OO.o 3.2 or the bot.
I was unable to reproduce the bug in Ubuntu 9.10 using OOo 3.2.0 (Build:9483), original version from OpenOffice.org. Steps: * Opened "pr__sentation_M2_pdf_en.odp" on Impress. * Exported to pdf using the default settings. (5 times, different filenames) * Edited the formulas, added more literals, numerals and subindices. * Exported to pdf using the dafault settings. (5 times again). * In the pdf export settings, disabled "image compression". * Exported again (5 times). Results: * No errors. None of the outputed files present badly printed characters. Considering the above, I think the problem is not present in OOo 3.2.0.
The symptoms seen in the linked PDF suggest this problem has the same root cause as issue 107358. *** This issue has been marked as a duplicate of 107358 ***
