Description drewjensen.inbox 2010-06-01 04:35:07 UTC
To reproduce open any ODB file, any table with more then one record.
Use the mouse to click the upper left corner of the data grid, so to select all
of the available rows.
Type [DEL]
Proceed past dialog to delete all rows
Office hangs

Checked w/ Ubuntu 10.04, OOO320m_18 and OpenSUSE 11.2 ooo-build 3.2.1.2

[NOTE under the ooo-build, build one time the odb file was left damaged - I have
tried a few times to reproduce that both with the ooo-build and the vanilla
build. I've not been able to reproduce it again...but the hang is constant in both]
Comment 1 drewjensen.inbox 2010-06-01 04:35:48 UTC
Verified that this was working with 3.2 - adding keyword regression
Comment 2 gibi 2010-06-13 19:34:21 UTC
But perhaps I didn't understand the scenario to reproduce:
What do you mean by "Proceed *past* dialog to delete all rows" ?

What I've done:
- opening a simple database with one table, 5 records, 6 columns
- double-clicking on the table to edit it
- Using the mouse to click the upper left corner of the data grid, so to select
all of the available rows.
- Typing [DEL]
- clicking on "Yes" to confirm

Result is ok. So, any other information?
(adding keyword needmoreinfo)

@ gibi
- open table in "Table data view" by right click on table name and select "Open"
this will open the "grid" (Not for edit as you described)
Then select all records, and hit "DEL"

I checked in 32bit version of final OOo 3.2.1(OOO320m18), and on opensuse 11.2
own 3.2.1.3 version. I can delete all record without problem.

@ atjensen
You use 64 bit versions of OOo?

Corrected summary.
Comment 4 gibi 2010-06-18 00:42:00 UTC
@r4zoli:
ok, so I confirm that it works for me with 3.2.1 X64 en-US on a Linux Mandriva
2010.0 64bits.
Comment 5 drewjensen.inbox 2010-06-18 00:55:18 UTC
Well, I can't seem to reproduce this using 3.2.1 at all today.

@pmladek: hm - smells a bit like the java stack clobber bug, do you recall the
bugid?

@chris: any other idea?
Comment 8 Mechtilde 2010-06-20 16:57:29 UTC

Even the reporter cannot reproduce the bug any more.
Comment 11 kendy 2010-06-21 08:46:34 UTC
Please feel free to reopen when you find the way to reproduce it again. Thank you!

Just for record. The java stack clobber bug, mention by Thorsten, is
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=603316. I am pretty sure that it is
openSUSE-specific, so it should not cause the problem on Ubuntu.
