Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 115877
Excel 2003 export for formulas is broken
Last modified: 2010-12-03 12:38:05 UTC
When exporting a simple spreadsheet containing formulas as Excel 2003 XML the cell references are not converted properly; My spreadsheet has one column with three rows, cell 1,1 = 1, cell 2,1 = 2, cell 3 is the formula summing the first and second cells (=sum(A1:A2)) This should render out in XML as "R[-2]C:R[-1]C" but is instead "of:=SUM([.A1:.A2])". This also occurs when importing a correctly formatted XML document, the formulas are not recognised and are instead rendered as text.

IF the same file is imported with OO2.0 everything is fine.
The Excel2003 filter uses XSLT and gets ODF 1.2+ including OpenFormula as source (in fact the configured version), which it can't cope with. So either a) use ODF 1.0/1.1 as source for the current XSLT, which somewhere needs overriding the configured ODF version for specific exports => @mib b) use current ODF as source and adapt XSLT => @sus I'm pretty sure this is a duplicate, can't find the the other right now. @kangarolf: You may workaround this if you temporarily select ODF 1.0/1.1 under Tools->Options->Load/Save->General "ODF format version", then export the document, and set the option back to "1.2 Extended" after.
No I couldnt either =)
It sounds like issue 94261.
I meant issue 95312, that is about export to .sxc but has the same cause. For Excel 2003 export lets use this issue here, as it concisely describes the root cause.
Bah, the other issue has votes. *** This issue has been marked as a duplicate of 94261 ***
Closing.
