Description relay1 2011-03-22 01:42:57 UTC
After installing OpenOffice 3.3 dates are formatted as YY-MM-DD. My 'Locale setting' is 'English (Canada)' and the default date format should be DD/MM/YY.

In OpenOffice 3.2 dates are formatted correctly according to the 'Locale setting' as DD/MM/YY.

In OpenOffice 3.3, not only are dates displayed using the wrong format, but the list of available date formats does not include DD/MM/YY, so a user defined date format must be created to display the date correctly.

I observed this problem in Writer and Calc.

getting rid of value "enhancement" for field "severity".
For enhancement the field "issue type" shall be used.

=Today() gives 2014-02-06 with Tools - Options... - Language Settings - Languages - Language of Locale setting=English (Canada)

Currently we only have an observation, but no info whether the observation is a bug or intended behavoor. The question is to what settings date format "really" is related, some more research will be required, I will do that, soon.

Due to Wikipedia (see URL) there even are differences between anglophone and francophone Canada, Iso-Setting would be correct for French areas, but not for English.

So (if we trust to Wikipedia) we indeed have a bug here, for English (Canada) default should be DD/MM/YYYY (or DD/MM/YY)

French (Canada) is ok.
