There are similar problems with the Italian version. Personally, I suspect this is due to some missing updates from Pootle, but we will be able to see it only when we can analyze the available Pootle data.

found 2 other entries:

- Menu "Data -Pivot Table - create..."

- Default Text in Find bar 
  (should be "Suchen" in german)

I have reproduced the described not localized strings in the user interface also in OOo 3.4 Beta (en-US full + de language pack).

Thus, it looks like that the localized strings are not lost during the migration to apache.org

I checked the translation and because of some moved strings there were indeed some missing strings. I updated the German translation accordingly and tested.

Either I had a build/dependency problem or we have a general problem with the move string and the translation.

Add missing deliver command

The missing strings are defined in svx/in/globlmn_tmpl.hrc.  When SVX is built then the translated strings are added.  The result is written to $(WORKDIR)/inc/svx/globlmn.hrc.

What is missing is that globlmn.hrc is delivered from workdir to solver.
This patch adds the missing deliver command.

Thx for the further German translation/ui related issues.

ad <tools_options_1>: I have figured out that in OOo 3.3.0 this looks the same. A space character is missing in the translation.

ad <tools_options_2>: It looks like as that the translation has changed here.
In OOo 3.3.0 we had "Stellen für Standardf~ormat begrenzen". Now, we have "~Nachkommastellen für Zahlenformat begrenzen". This string seems to be too long for the current dialog layout.

ad <tools_options_3> and <tools_options_4>: The Math baseline alignment is new in AOO 3.4 resp. OOo 3.4 Beta. It looks like that the translation is missing here.

Checked with the applied patch and with some further German translations provided by Jürgen in my local environment.
--> initial reported missing German translations are fixed.

Andre: from my point of view you can commit the patch.

Jürgen: can you please commit your further German translations.

I have the same issues with Russian lang-pack for
OOo_3.4.0_Linux_x86-64_install-deb_en-US.tar.gz (r1299571) and

Could anybody refer the names of files of localisation pack (or default instalation) that involved this bug as it will accelerate the corrections for other language?

I'm not a member of localization team so I don't know in what files it can be placed. But I may try to help for resolving of the issue for Russian language pack. Also I will seek information about how to bring corrections of some of files (not all of them seems may be editing by texteditor)

Please wait for the next developer snapshots or release candidate which contains the patch from Andre. This will fix a couple of translation defect which have been reported here.

If certain translation afterwards are still missing than these can be made on the Pootle server.

This is issue should not be used to track single missing strings for a specific menu, dialog or whatever. A general problem why strings were lost is solved. The Germany translation is not 100% complete yet and it is a known issue.

We will continue with an en-US version and will provide further localized version when the localization is complete and ready. 

I removed the show stopper flag.

The problem is concerning Print menu for Russian lang pack (with English lang User Interface activated the problem does't take place):

For Print menu settings there are absence "Range and Copies" fileds like here

And also absent OpenOffice.org Writer, ... Calc, Math tabs of Print menu


There is no such problem for Impress, Draw Print menu items and tabs.
Also I don't see such problem with OpenOffice-3.3.0

Is this still valid or already fixed in 3.4.1?

As a general problem (i.e., the one that showed form controls in English in Writer in English, as per the first attachment) this is solved in 3.4.1 in Italian and German and likely everywhere.

The other issue (about Print dialog) is at https://issues.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=119120 and is no longer covered here, so I would propose to close this one unless the general problem is still reported by someone.
