Description Saulo Toledo 2012-10-21 00:38:46 UTC
I have a .doc document. After open at OpenOffice.org Writer, the main image color at header is changed.

The image sounds ok, but some library renders the image with the wrong colors. I saw this happens with eog utility from Gnome 3 project, then can be related with something outside OOo. Anyway, affects OOo files.

Now, imagine the same problem with a bigger document...

I'm attaching here:
- the document
- the original image who is redered with wrong colors
- an example of the image with correct colors (edited by gimp)
- an example of the image with wrong colors (edited by gimp)

All files are property of http://www.enect.com.br/

Better than attach the file:
1) Create a new document
2) Insert the original image attached here

The problem will happen.

I forgot the original logo:

The way via picpaste does not work. The image I get from there looks the same as your "How I see the image", which is attached here.

If I insert your picture "How the image should appear" into a new writer document, it looks the same as in browser. The text has a color gradient, so I think it is correct.

1.
Have you tried, whether the picture is only bad on screen or is bad in print too?
2.
Have you tried, whether it is a resize problem? Generate the picture in gimp in its target size, that means resampling it in Gimp. And then insert the smaller picture in Writer. Is it still bad then?

Really, the picture at picpaste it's equal "How I see the image" when opened at browser or at OpenOffice.org, but it's show with different color tones when inserted at Microsoft Office. The image at "How I see the image" it's a "printscreen" and do not change the colors like described here. I've added the image at picpaste because only with that image this happens. It's something at image format, but I don't know what can be...

The picture "How the image should appear" it's another "printscreen", and do not change the colors. But if you put this image with the original, it's possible see the color changes, like the new attach here.

About print, not tested yet, but generated PDF files with both images are with their different color tones.

About the resizes, when I generate in Gimp, the picture lost that strange behavior. I think it's something at JPEG format and the library used to read it, but I don't know what... Since this happens with other linux softwares, like Eye of Gnome (eog), for example.

I will test this at Windows releases of OpenOffice.org to confirm if this happens there too.

Please attach the doc-document including the image. Strip all content, that is not needed. If the image is linked, put it together with the document into a folder, zip it, and upload the zip-file.

The file is bigger than 1MB. I do not edited the image, since I don't know what is the problem. Then I added here:

http://pastelink.me/getfile.php?key=6befa7

This link is online for 7 days, there are some other place where I can paste the file without removal?

The picture in the header has a 32Bit CMYK format, whereas the picture in the body has a 24Bit RGB format.
Obviously AOO is not able to read the CMYK format correctly. It is a missing feature and therefore I change the issue type to FEATURE.

Thanks for fast return! I'm updating the system from Linux to All.
I've tested on Windows versions and your last comment about CMYK question confirms this change.
