Writer does not recognize input from Dragon NaturallySpeaking in the new v. 4.0. Dragon worked fine in the previous version of Writer, and works fine now in other applications.

Impossible to confirm - Dragon software is not available for evaluation download, only for purchase.

I would ask Nuance for help but migraines have my eyesight so blurry right now I can hardly see to type this. That was why I wanted to use Dragon tonight for my writing. I can work around by writing in Notepad and copying and pasting.
Can you ask Nuance for the help that I can't? I know they love to have happy customers and it has been a pleasure since Dragon dictates directly into the document instead of a dictation window so I bet they would help out somehow.

While using Open Office 4.0 Dragon stays in the command mode somehow. It keeps saying "Please say that again" Commands such as "click file" are misinterpreted as "click start". So I think that there is some sort of mix up between how the modes are handled between command and dictation. Not that I know much. It just seems that the commands are not getting interpreted. It hears but not quite. However it still can easily detect commands.

The Dragon end of it seems to work perfectly for dictation into Notepad or when speaking into the dictation box for the search on the Windows start menu.

Sorry for being so wordy. (I forgot I could magnify the screen to 200%)

Hope that helps.
I love Open Office and encourage my friends to use it and support it.

I can understand the reasons behind not being able to solve the issue. It was a shame that Nuance didn't seem bothered by it. Perhaps a future update to Dragon or Open Office will solve the issue. At least I am getting good use out of the noise cancelling headset.
Thanks.

Not sure why reference to this issue came up in my email today. :-/
