Description Anja Stemme 2015-05-18 07:20:32 UTC
When I enter a group object, wishing to replace one of the grouped obejcts - an image - by another image, I select this object and choose afterwards "inssert/image from file". The image is inserted correctly at the intended point, BUT other drawings of the file are deleted.

If you know it (never use insert from a file within a group object) it is of course easy to work around it. But if you don't know it, you might loose a lot of work ....

I was not able to reproduce what you described.
An inserted picture doesn't make vanished other shapes in a group.

Could you attach a sample ODG document to show the problem?

Once did, so this Issue may be closed or progressed as necessary - otherwise the issue may be Resolved as Invalid in the future.

ODG File and example png

Open the ODG Select, enter one the for groups, select one object of the group and choose from the menu: insert image from file.

Workaround:

To replace an object of a group just enter the group, copy the obejct, leave the group, ctrl v, select the pasted object, now choose 'insert image from file', ctrl-x, enter the group again, selected the object to replace, ctrl-v

....

Can reproduce the behaviour under Ubuntu 64bit.
Objects will be deleted. AOO crashes by closing.

If I create a simple test file with only one group the crash also appears.
