Hi dovog, as you see, unfortunately the interest in this issue still is small. I would like to change status to NEW, but for that I need a step by step instruction how I can reproduce it with my German OOo 1.1.0. This also might be helpful for fixing the issue, because some general aspects of that option might be touched. For that I need - A document with some text - an instruction how to see the "bad effect" with additional - expected: can .... ...., useful for ... - actual: ..., that is bad because - if required, a link where I can download a free font used in your document. Might be, BiDi would be a better subcomponent? Rainer
Yes, bidi is the cxurrect component. Anyway, I am confirming this- althugh this bugs depends in issue #13091 being fixed first, once it is fixed we need this one fixed as well, otherwise it will too easy to get into a mess using bidi control characters.
SBA: Target set to OOo 2.0.
Soshana, could you pls. describe in detail what this task is about and what is specifically addressed with this task in comparison to issue 13091 and all the other zero width character issues. Additionally pls. attach a minimal bugdoc that clearly shows the error. Thx.

Changed Resolution to LATER because of dependency to issue 13091 and because I got no info what's the issue about.
Closing due to issue inactivity. Feel free to reopen if you can provide the required information.
What this bug asks for is the same feature that Windows textboxes already have ("Show Unicode Control Characters"). Here's how to see it in notepad.exe: 1. Under WinXP/Win2k, install BiDi support (Control Panel -> Regional and Language Options -> Languages Tab -> Install files for complex script and right-to-left languages) 2. Open Notepad 3. Right click the textarea and select Show Unicode Control Characters 4. Right click the textarea and open Insert Unicode Control Character, then choose LRM The LRM, which is normally hidden, is now displayed as an arrow. This is what we want in OO. Please re-open. Prog.
