Description mobouille 2003-04-28 14:43:34 UTC
1. I launch MS Word 2000 with a blank page
2. I enter Hello World
3. To create a line leader before the tab, i select within Word (Format >
Tabulator) the correct fill character
4. I select the position of the tabs stop, save as a Word file and reopen
within OO Writer.

2 Cases are possible :

A. the tabs stop is after the "right margin" : the line desappears ! (see file
tab_after.doc)
B. the tabs stop is before the "right margin" : the line appears ! (see file
tab_before.doc)

The second attached file has a wrong description: consider the third
attached file instead.

(I could not delete the second attached file ?)

Please explain more about your problem, your information is not enough
to investigate the problem. Please explain step by step.

Please try using the latest OOo 1.1 Rc5,
Your version already old enough, and many bug fixes since your version
and 1.1 RC5. If the problem still happend in 1.1 RC5 please report bac

reassigned to mru
Comment 9 michael.ruess 2003-10-16 11:27:45 UTC
MRU->CMC: The Tab character seems completely ignored by thi import,
when it is outside the left page border. The other thing, that the Tab
moves to the next line when it's entered manually, should be something
for AMA/FME afterwards I think ;-)

Rem: As mobouille pointed out, concentrate on the third attachment.

cmc->mru: Check in kilkennyfilterteam14. Import correctly there.
Comment 11 caolanm 2003-10-17 16:57:19 UTC
Should be duplicate of issue 11873
Comment 12 michael.ruess 2003-11-05 09:18:16 UTC
The tab is not ignored anymore (since CWS kilkennyfilterteam14; which
means the not yet scheduled OO 2.0 release). What is different: OO
does not want to copy the Word behaviour, which means, you only can
see the tab (-leader) in the text, when the right paragraph/page
margin is extended a bit.
