Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 15136
Email URL hyperlink partly refreshed to indicate visited
Last modified: 2013-08-07 14:38:26 UTC
Hi, I just entered an email address into a Writer document which becomes a hyperlink. Nothing else is entered into the document. When I click on the hyperlink an Outlook Express window opens half covering the email address. When I close the Outlook Express email window only the part of the address which is covered is refreshed to indicate the URL has been previously visited. That is the first part is left blue, but the part covered by the Outlook Express window appears in a red colour. From what I have read on *nix/MSWindows window handling I think it will probably only be a MS Windows issue and not a *nux issue. Also in OO1.0.3.1 the link is not changed at all. It remains the original blue. In Calc the link does not change colour at all so it does not apply to Calc. I consider this a minor issue. Kelvin
I just tried this on my computer. I am using 1.1beta2 and am running on Windows. I typed in the URL to my e-mail, and then clicked on the hyperlink. The entire thing turned from blue to red. That was also the only thing I had in the Document. Could you please try this again and see if it is still messing up for you? Thanks.
Hi, I just tried this again and it is reproducible. As I said it is only a minor issue. The important thing to note is that when Outlook Express opened, it opened in a window which only partly covered the email address. When Outlook Express is closed the part covered turned red and the part not covered by the window remained blue. Not being a C++ program but having read a little about the window refreshing, I would guess that only the changed portion of the window is being refreshed which would normally be okay. In this instance however the email address is both inside and outside the changed window. Refreshing the window by having another window open and then close on the blue portion does result in the being fully red so the change has occurred, but simply not being shown on the screen. I have attached two image files to show this is reproducible. I typed the words: Kelvin demo@onlineconnections.com.au into a new OO1.1Beta2 writer document. I then went back and clicked on the email link. The first image shows the link partly covered. The second image shows the text which has only been partly refreshed when the Outlook Exprss window was closed. Hope this helps Kelvin

I tried this again, and this time the same thing happened with mine. I am going to confirm this. Thanks.
Reassigned to ES
ES->FME: don't know if it more a formatting problem (when the "visited hyperlink" format is set) or a real repaint problem (OD?)
