Description Unknown 2003-07-21 18:56:56 UTC
(This may be related to issue 7483.)

Upon opening a .doc file created by MS Word 97/200 that contains an envelope,
OO 1.1 mangles the envelope and body text. The envelope "TO ADDRESS" text block
appears at the end of the document body rather than the envelope itself. It
prints that way, too.

This seems to be consistent and repeatable with several MS .docs I've tried. I
can send an example file upon request. (I don't see a way to attach a file
using this form.)

In deed, we need the document to reproduce the problem here.
You can attach a file by using the "Create ne Attachment" link above
the Comments input field. You can also send it directly
(mru@openoffice.org) for the case it contains confidential data.
Feel free to re-open the issue when you've done so. Thanks for
supporting us!

I Can Not Reproduce the problem in OOo 1.1 Rc5, Win Xp Pro.

Please try using the latest OOo 1.1 Rc5,
Your version already old enough, and many bug fixes since your version
and 1.1 RC5. If the problem still happend in 1.1 RC5 please report back

The document opens exactly the way etbnc described. But: it opens the
same in MS Word, which means OO interprets the file format correctly.
It looks, that the application which created this file, has a problem.
From the file format I can see, that this must be created by a third
party application.
