Description lohmaier 2003-09-17 18:15:32 UTC
OOo crashes when using the context-menu entry "update" in the
Template-Management Dialog.
Steps to reproduce:
1) Open the "Template Management" dialog either by using
File|Templates->Organize or File|New->Templates and Documents: Button Organize
2) Select one of the entries in the left-hand frame (e.g. left-klick on "Default")
3) right-click in the *whitespace* area in the left-hand frame and choose "update"

-> crash

Instead of selecting an entry first, you can do step 3) twice to get the crash
Comment 1 lohmaier 2003-09-17 18:17:33 UTC
initial status is new since problem was reported in german-lang
user-mailinglist and already confirmed by several users.
Comment 2 lohmaier 2003-09-17 18:20:00 UTC
OS-> ALL, added crash-keyword
Comment 3 andreschnabel 2003-09-17 19:54:45 UTC
This seems to occur in special circumstances only.
Note that I can confirm on fresh Win98 Install (but it neeets 3 to 5
right-cliks to crash).
But I cannot crash OOo on WInXP or Win2k (but this was reported at
german dev-list).

Would It be of any help to attach a crash report (or send it to SUN,
with reference to this issue)?

core files are ~50MB, I wont attach them... but here is what gdb tells
me when running bt (probably won't help, but anyway):
Core was generated by
`/usr/opt/OpenOffice.org1.1.0/program/soffice.bin -writer'.
Program terminated with signal 6, Aborted.

#2  0x40bc0fd9 in ?? ()
#3  0x40bc109a in ?? ()
(gdb)

(it's the same for both installations)
