Description Unknown 2003-10-15 17:01:35 UTC
Im currently running StarOffice 7(Oct 8) on accessible gnome-2.4(Oct 10)

Im peforming a series of operations using key navigation, where indication of
currently focused widget is crucial. I'm finding it very poor in many areas,
for example the following:

- open a new text document
- go to 'file' -> 'save as..'
- use <tab> to jump to the 'save with password' and 'automatic file name
extension' checkboxes
- there is .no. focus indication on either of these checkboxes and minimal focus
on the 'save' and 'cancel' buttons. For visually impaired users this would be
serious.

confirming. The only indication is the dotted line around the object.

SBA: Reassigned to Ralf.

Ralf -> Malte: I compared the behaviour of SO with one gnome application
(gedit). There is no difference between them in highlighting controls. Do we
want to change it nontheless for SO?
Comment 4 malte_timmermann 2004-03-04 16:15:02 UTC
MT->SSA: Nice to have, but IMHO not so important.

Focus rectangle is drawn around text only, like on Windows, so focus is perceptable.
Not sure about GNOME: Mozilla draws around the box, GEdit around text only.

We could change that, but then we have a problem with our layout, because check
box height is currently to small for this.

Not important for 2.0, may be later for better platform look&feel.

Changed to Enhancement (Focus in Gedit is not better).
Set Version from current to src680m106
Comment 6 lohmaier 2005-05-30 16:18:29 UTC
I think this issue is now obsolete (at least for gnome/gtk) since OOo now uses
the system's theme so you can switch to a theme that hightlight the active
elements more prominently...
Comment 7 mdxonefour 2005-09-29 11:04:39 UTC
re-targeted to OOo 3.0
Comment 8 stephan_schaefer 2005-12-02 10:35:05 UTC
SSA: reassign to PL
Comment 9 philipp.lohmann 2006-06-15 16:00:32 UTC
pl->es: could you please check whether this is still an issue on our platforms ?
As cloph pointed out this should not be a problem anymore due to theming
support, however before we close this issue i'd like to verify that theming does
not need to be improved in this regard.
Comment 10 eric.savary 2006-07-11 14:34:12 UTC
Yes. Focus is visible
