Comment 3 lohmaier 2003-10-18 12:21:28 UTC
please provide screenshots that compare the display of the same
document viewed in OOo and in Word.
I cannot tell from your description and from the description given in
the document where the problem is.

Reassigned to MRU
Comment 7 lohmaier 2003-10-20 21:23:58 UTC
Has nothing to do with the symbols but that OOo breaks words with a
different algorithm than word does.
I tend to resolve this worksforme.

Just put a few spaces between the symbols and you're done.

It is very unlikely to use so many symbols in a row in a real
life-document.

see also issue 17155 but more probably a duplicate of issue 19716

(which you, utomo, confirmed btw...)
Updating the summary accordingly (original summary:

Issue regarding Break-Iterator. Assigned to SBA.
Comment 9 stefan.baltzer 2003-10-27 11:47:42 UTC
SBA: Christian is right. Priority changed from P3 to P4 as this is not
really a critical problem for an average user. Different line breaks
in a "useless" row of symbols without spaces is an issue that comes up
only when testing.
SBA->FME: I opended the file with the CWS i18n08 (the CWS introducing
ICU 2.6 and solving the "Line break after slash" issue 17155) but the
results are the same.
I think that issue 19716 "Wrong line break at special characters", at
time s assigned to Karl) could be connected with this one.
Reassigned to Frank.
Comment 10 frank.meies 2003-10-28 11:39:25 UTC
FME->Karl: Looks like yours.
Comment 11 karl.hong 2003-10-30 00:28:07 UTC
We are using ICU line break rule, which is suggested by Unicode. I
have already made some changes, will make some more changes for the
symbols in question.
Comment 12 karl.hong 2003-12-04 23:13:19 UTC
fixed in cws i18n09.
Comment 13 karl.hong 2003-12-17 23:23:59 UTC
There is a little differenc between window and unix version, breakiterator
breaks line after double exclamation marks.

I have fixed most common punctuations, make them similar to MS office, but for
some weird ones, like double exclamation marks, I think MS may just ignore
them, breaking the line after double exclamation marks may not be wrong. So I
will leave those weird ones as they are, unless someone has different opinion.
Comment 14 stefan.baltzer 2004-02-04 15:02:49 UTC
SBA: Set to fixed.
Comment 15 stefan.baltzer 2004-02-04 15:03:45 UTC
SBA: Verified in CWS i18n09.
Comment 16 stefan.baltzer 2004-05-24 17:53:09 UTC
SBA: OK in build 680_m39. Closed.
