Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 2448
Use spaces with bullet points
Last modified: 2013-08-07 14:38:26 UTC
Bullet points are currently converted to a Numbering style when a document is exported in Word format. In OO it is possible to put a sepecified distance between the bullet and the text. This effect is not carried accross into the Word document so the Numberings (were Bullets in OO !) end squashed right up against the text. On examination it appears that with Word Numberings there is no equivalent mechanism, however it does give the option to put a Space or a Tab between the Numbering and the text. Would it not be possible to replace the OO distance value with a Word Numbering "Put Space before text" when exporting documents ? (In fact with any style that will be translated into a Word Numbering !)
Reassigned to Michael.
MRU->FT: Once I proposed to export a Tab between numbering/bullet and Text. This might be the mostly used case in WinWord. But as long as our numbering remains the same, there will be no way to have a suitable export to WW.
This issue is re-assigned to Christian Jansen for further evaluation.
I think it is an important issue to support a correct export. Especialy for Bullets, if Bullets aren't looking good the whole document is for the trash. Falko, please add this topic to the next filter feature dicussion. Thank you!

Yepp, this seems to be my playground! And well, this issue is already on our feature list therefore it's double with a idea from our internal idea board.
Still valid. Set correct status.
