Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 34591
page-break after inside a style does not get exported to .doc
Last modified: 2017-05-20 11:19:47 UTC
I have an .sxw document with a style called "page-break" that causes a page-break after. When I export to the .doc format using the word97/2000/xp export filter the page break appears to not be exported
Created attachment 17902 [details] .swx document containing the page-break style being used in a sample document
Created attachment 17903 [details] Word document that I exported from the .sxw document that I also attached
I had the same problem when using OpenOffice 1.1.2 on Windows and on Linux.
Mark Raposo - September 25, 2004 I was able to reproduce this bug in OOo 1.1.2 English, on Windows XP Professional. These are the steps that used: 1. Open Word Processor 2. Opened attached file page-break.sxw 3. Saved as word97/2000/xp doc file 4. Opened the file in MS Word 2003 The page-break did not export. However if I created a new document, and inserted a manual page break, it exports to Word fine.
confirming with 19M58, Win98 SE

Considering the effort, the priority, the risk and our resource planning I've to target this issue to OOo Later.

Note that this bug makes the "Next style" feature (for page styles) completely broken and even misleading for all users having to export documents in .doc format. This is a recurrent question in forums.
In effect it is impossible to work on a multi page document with headers/footers and co-operate with someone using MsWord ... Therefore IMO P2 I've created issue 78723 and attached my findings/examples.
Issue 60332 seems to be a duplicate also.
Reset assigne to the default "issues@openoffice.apache.org".
