Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 35246
Word Wrapping with Rotated Text in Word2k Table
Last modified: 2013-08-07 14:38:26 UTC
When opening a word2k document with rotated text in a table cell, the word wrapping puts the last word(s) at the front of the sentence. This is shown in the attached word2k file, where the sentence "This is a test for text direction" appears as "direction This is a test for text" when opened in OOWriter. I've attached the word2k file together with pdf's showing how it looks in word2k and how it looks in OOWriter. I've tried this with another word2k doc and get the same results. Thanks

MRU->FME: the text in the table is formatted very strange. When traveling through the rotated text you can see, that it is imported in the correct order.
I've noticed with OOo 2.0 beta that the problem still exists, however, when print preview is selected the words appear in the correct order. This correct order is retained when print preview is closed. I get the same results using winxp or suse9.2. Also, with the winxp version, when I try opening with a newly installed version of OOo the words rearrange themselves to be in the correct order. This only happens the first time the document is opened with a newly installed OOo. If OOo is restarted (after closing or from a reboot) the words still appear mixed up, until selecting print preview when they are in the correct order. This happened with the last few milestone builds and the beta version. It didn't happen with the beta version for linux. With a larger word2k document where a table with rotated text is several pages into the document, the words don't rearrange into the correct order when selecting print preview.
