Description edurbs 2004-10-21 18:28:14 UTC
I'm charge of the computers of FADIVA (www.fadiva.edu.br) and we migrated all
machines to openoffice.org. I have a document in a openoffice.org (sxw) file,
with 235k. When I ask to openoffice to open it, it ask with I want to run
macros, but even I clik in NO or in YES it freezes. I waited long time, but
nothing happened. I'd like to send to someone the file to analizes.
Thanks for the attetion

When OO try to open the file, it freezes
Comment 2 lohmaier 2004-10-21 20:11:32 UTC
no problem opening the file in OOo 1.9m56 (maybe the position of the graphic
(actually an OLE-object) is incorrect, cannot tell)

Statistics show: 118 pages, 1 OLE-object, 330 tables

In OOo 1.1.3 progress bar fills to 100% and disappears, but document doesn't
appear on screen, CPU usage is at 100%, memusage doesn't change
Same problem doesn't occurs when using Insert|File - It takes some time, but the
document is inserted properly

So I can confirm this issue (using Linux as reporter does).
Lowering prio since only specific document concerned and bug doesn't break a
whole module. Workaround exists.

Further info: File was saved with pretty printing enabled and contains a
layout-cache (still don't know how to generate one of those) so this maybe
related to issue 31777 (although deleting the layout-cache doesn't solve the
problem and this one doesn't cause a crash but a freeze)

MRU->ES: freezes some during loading the file (at about 50% progress, tried with
680m57). Please have a look.

ES->AMA: as described by Cloph. further tests:
OOo 1.0.x -> Opens fine
OOo 1.1.x -> freezes
but
src680m59 -> Opens fine again

Do you think about OOo 1.1.5?
Comment 5 andreas.martens 2004-10-26 14:57:32 UTC
My first thought was: nothing for 1.1.5 because it's a loop in a specific
document which has been fixed for OOo2.0. Nothing for a product update.
But then I had a deeper look into the document and I realized that the loop is
caused by the header and the problem can easily reproduced with a very small
document. It's a regression and should not be too difficult to fix for another
product update.
So I prefer target milestone 1.1.5.

Loop caused by dynamic header
Comment 7 suripally 2005-02-04 17:19:47 UTC
Tried to open the sxw file in OO under both Linux and Windows XP. The file
freezes OOo in both the environments. But OOo 1.0.x opens the file whereas 1.1.x
freezes. The problem is supposedly in OOo1.1.x.

HB->OD: looks like a loop in layout
Comment 9 Oliver-Rainer Wittmann 2005-04-19 16:18:04 UTC
fix in progress in cws swbf7pp5

this defect is already fixed on codeline for OOo 2.0 by issue 22056. Thus, merge
this fix into OOo 1.1.5 codeline.
Comment 10 Oliver-Rainer Wittmann 2005-04-19 16:33:36 UTC
fixed in cws swbf7pp5 - changed file:
/sw/source/core/layout/hffrm.cxx, 1.13.340.1
Comment 11 Oliver-Rainer Wittmann 2005-04-29 07:40:08 UTC
OD->ES: Checked in internal installation set of cws swbf7pp5 - please verify.

re-open issue and reassign to es@openoffice.org
