Description whizzy 2004-11-03 17:16:58 UTC
OpenOffice does not accept the Xwindowing system command --geometry on startup
to specify the initial window position.

I miss some information like:
- have you tried this with a newer version of OOo, too?
- which distribution are you using?
- have you tried this in an bash-, tcsh-, sh-, whatsoever prompt?
- Are there any error messages?
and the like.

Additional info on the geometry bug.

I've noticed the problem with OOo 1.1.2
I'm using SuSE Linux Enterprise Server 9 using bash.
I've also seen the problem when using sh

No error messages are reported, the -geometry Xwindowing system command is
just ignored.

Hi pl. Can you please have a look at this issue, too? thanks...
Comment 4 philipp.lohmann 2004-11-26 09:55:56 UTC
The description is not precise; -geometry is a commandline parameter originally
for Xt applications - which OOo is not. Handling for that could be build in, i
think this would be in lo's domain.
Comment 5 philipp.lohmann 2004-11-26 09:56:51 UTC
This is an enhancement rather than a defect; it's simply new functionality.
