Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 39418
Writer incorrectly importing MS Word captions with custom numbering
Last modified: 2017-05-20 11:22:08 UTC
I ran across a problem where Writer is incorrectly importing an MS Word document that contains custom caption numbering. It then does not correctly generate indices based on those custom captions. The following MS Word file contains tables and figures on page 2 that contain custom captions, with an index generated from each type of captions on page 1. A pdf is created in both MS Word and OOo to highlight the difference.
Created attachment 20750 [details] The test case MS Word file
Created attachment 20751 [details] A pdf file created by Adobe Acrobat Distiller from the MS Word file
Created attachment 20752 [details] A pdf file created by OOo's pdf export function after opening the MS Word file
MRU->OS: there are some user defined number range fields imported on page two. Could you please evaluate, why these do not count as expected?
The fields have the name 'Figure_A-'. The evaluation in Writer's calculator works on the expression string which is 'Figure_A-+1'. This evaluation doesn't work. Fields names containing operators are therefor not allowed to be inserted with the user interface. ->mmaher: Please change the import accordingly
If it's not fixed in time for OOo2.0, it should be fixed for OOo2.0.1.
mmaher->flr: Your's methinks
Considering the effort, the priority, the risk and our resource planning I've to retarget this issue to OOo Later.
