Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 40427
Palm Expense Wizard Needed
Last modified: 2013-08-07 15:12:27 UTC
Palm OS based PDA computers by default include a program for recording Expenses. Currently there is an ability to produce automated Expense Report Spreadsheets for Microsoft Excel as well as Lotus Smartsuite's 123 Spreadsheet. I would like a wizard that would import standard Palm OS Expense database and generate an expense report from the PALM data. An example can be found at: http://www.famechurch.net/expense.pdf
One for requirements. Frank
please attach one of the standard Palm OS Expense databases I guess it should be pretty easy to write a macro that does the job (or maybe this isn't even necessary). But if the database format is proprietary (no driver available) this will be harder...
Created attachment 21556 [details] Zip file of both the db and the .txt (comma separated) palm expense files.
Ok, there are two options, the palm database format and a text (coma delimited?) format. I suppose launching the wizard would need to offer a browse dialog to locate the database. I've enclosed both formats with a few test entries for your enjoyment. :-)
$ unzip expense.zip Archive: expense.zip skipping: expense.db unsupported compression method 12 skipping: expense.txt unsupported compression method 12 Please use a stnadard compressin method (or no compression at all) and upload again. Thanks.
Created attachment 21580 [details] text version of Palm Expense Data

Sorry about the wrong format, It's a standard ZIP (Well if winXP creates a "standard" zip.
