Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 43024
toward sign should be sizable (rightarrow sign)
Last modified: 2013-02-07 22:42:46 UTC
Check this image: http://people.inf.elte.hu/pentek_i/doksik/Linux/bugs/OOo/toward.png I think the toward sign painted red should fill the free space by width.
Confirming as a new enhancement.
Reassigned to requirements. If I got it right, the guys are talking about the "rightarrow" sign, which should be scalable in length.
you are right the right arrow should have flexible (arbitrary, etc) length
Please see also issue 60591. I added there some examples from chemistry where various arrow-types need to be scalable. Please note, that TEX has these possibilities, see e.g. Table 132: chemarrow Extensible Accents \autoleftarrow{abc}{def} \autorightarrow{abc}{def} \autoleftrightharpoons{abc}{def} \autorightleftharpoons{abc}{def} These symbols are all “reverse accents†in that the two arguments serve, respectively, as a superscript and a subscript to the arrows. In addition to the symbols shown above, chemarrow also provides \larrowfill, \rarrowfill, \leftrightharpoonsfill, and \rightleftharpoonsfill macros. For an extended list of TEX-symbols, see http://www.ctan.org/tex-archive/info/symbols/comprehensive/symbols-a4.pdf. For an image with such arrows, see: image with equilibrium constants http://goldbook.iupac.org/SVG/C01480-1.png
