Description Frank Schönheit 2005-03-15 16:34:58 UTC
This is a regression in CWS dba25, probably of issue 43858:

- open the bibliography database
- select "Tables" on the left side
- drag the "biblio" table in the lower pane onto itself
=> the "Copy table" wizard opens
- select the "Attach data" radio button
- press "Create"
=> error message: "This kind of statement is not supported."
Comment 1 Frank Schönheit 2005-03-15 16:35:21 UTC
this used to work in some recent build -> keyword "regression"
Comment 2 Frank Schönheit 2005-03-15 17:06:39 UTC
Argh. The complete dBase (and file-based) functionality was broken, not even
SELECT did work anymore - which means you could not even open a dBase table for
data entry.

Fixed in CWS dba25

This fix is integrated in 1.9.91 release? or it will be in the next ?
because I try to append some data (from a calc doc) in my database, and do not work.
thank you.

http://documentation.openoffice.org/faqs/site_maintainers/034.html (yes, we're
trying to find a better place for this FAQ)
Though from what your wrote, I'm not sure whether your problem is the same as
described in this issue here.

hwoarang -> fs:
thank you for the link... following the instructions, I made a search there and
notice that this issue is integrated since milestone m88.

As I'm using m91 and can't append data from my calc doc into my tables (in the
Data Source browser or any other place) I'm thinking the bug persists...

I think, too, my problem is the same discribed here... I'm following this issue
(and #39146 too) for months...

Sorry if I'm wrong, but I use this feature I lot, but 1.1.4 has a bug with MEMO
and BOOLEAN fields, so...

Thank you again.

> I think, too, my problem is the same discribed here...

you misunderstodd me, I wanted to say that I am *not* sure whether your problem
is the same as this one here, since this particular issue (not able to copy
table data from dBase to dBase) existed for very few snapshots only.

> I'm following this issue (and #39146 too) for months...

which is up to impossible, since this issue was opened less than a month ago :)

May I suggest that you simply submit a new issue, and give a step-by-step
description of what you're doing (with sample data, if necessary), and what
happens then (as opposed to what you expect to happen)?

Hwoarang -> FS:
Sorry... you are right.
About the months, the issue that I wanted to say is: #25875
But searching again, I found the exactly problem reported by you on issue #39146

The solution for issue (39146) is that I want to use and can't see how to use it...

Sorry for this...

(May I suggest carrying this to users@dba?)

Ehm - drag a table (from the Base application) or tabular data (in either a text
or a spreadsheet) onto the "Tables" node in the data source browser, or the
"Tables" icon in a database document?
