I can't reproduce the bug.
Please tell me if I've to do something special (e.g. load the file from a
network drive, set write protection to the file before loading, ...)
Comment 4 slurdge 2005-05-27 16:25:27 UTC
Tested the file in OOo 1.9.100(fr) WinXP.
The bug does not occur - I can view slide show.
Comment 5 christian.guenther 2005-06-07 12:35:49 UTC
Hi Computerhotline

Please tell me if the bug is also fixed on your system (in the m100 or later) or
if you still can reproduce the bug.

regards
Christian
Comment 6 peschtra 2005-06-14 06:25:20 UTC
Cannot reproduce with 1.9.108 on Win XP. When the next snapshot comes out,
please download and try again.

Closing as Works for me.
Comment 7 computerhotline 2005-06-14 19:18:45 UTC
When I click on "Slideshow" button, after I open this file with OOo m104, OOo
crashes.
Perhaps this bug is making by my graphics card :
ATI RADEON IGP 320M
Comment 8 christian.guenther 2005-06-28 17:51:10 UTC
I still can't reproduce the bug but according to your graphic card it could be
the same bug like in issue 48454.
Comment 9 christian.guenther 2005-07-27 13:26:13 UTC
reopen to send the issue to thb
Comment 10 christian.guenther 2005-07-27 13:27:37 UTC
Please have a look if this bug is duplicate to issue 48454.
Comment 11 thb 2005-07-28 10:42:56 UTC
@computerhotline: hm, sounds weird. From what's been reported, I don't think
this is duplicate to issue 48454.

Does this crash happen only with this specific document, or always, even when
you create a new Impress document? Does the behaviour change if you run the
slideshow within a window (Slideshow->Slideshow settings, then select Type:
Window in the dialog)? Furthermore, you should consider sending a crash report
(a dialog for sending it should come up right after the crash, when OOo has
restarted itself), and note the crash reporter ID within this issue.

I have exactly the same problem, I use OOo 1.9.118. I created a presentation on
my desktop computer (Intel P4 HT, WinXP) and it worked there without any
problems. When I transferred it to my notebook (Intel Centrino Mobile
Technology, ATI Mobility Raddeon 9700, Win XP) to show the presentation, all
customised animations on a slide work very well, but many of the "next-slide"
animations take a lot of time and do not work probably and take a lot of time,
especially "Uncover Down Fast". Uncover Down Fast even causes a crash of the
graphic card diver (ati2vga driver), so that a system reboot is necessary.
I'd like to mention that OOo 1.1.x works without any problems! "uncover Down
Fast" is already included in OOo1.1.x and it works on my notebook computer
pretty well! So this seems to be a OOo 2 problem!
Comment 13 thb 2005-08-03 10:27:03 UTC
@jkirchner: no, you haven't. The problem you're reporting is issue 48454.
Comment 14 maand 2005-09-02 16:45:51 UTC
I am able to verify this with OOo2Beta2 on WinXP. The first Slide displayed
very slowly. The change of the slides are very slow. When I break the
presentationmodus with ESC my system (WinXP, Centrino M725 (1,6 Ghz), Ati
Mobility Radeon 9700/64MB, 15,4''-Display)crashes. The grafic-driver run into
an error and I had to do a hard reset of my system.
I run the presentation with the same version of OOo on a SuSE 9.3 with KDE
3.4.2 (on another box). The presentation displayed perfectly. So I think, it
is only a problem in the windows-version.

OOo version: 1.9.125 (Clean installation)
Computer: NoteBook 17" FlatScreen
OS: Windows XP SP2
Processor: P4 3.4 Ghz
Mem: 1 Gig
Video: ATI Mobility Radeon X600 128MB

I was able to verify a similiar problem with the attached file. Impress never
crashes but each slide transition takes aproximattaly 8 to 12 seconds to
complete. I can exit the slide show with the esc key, but only after a slide
transition completes. I can continue on to each slide all the way to the end,
but with the slow responce as described. The CPU usage stays near 30% for each
slide then spikes upto 100% just before the slide completes. It then goes down
to 0%.

I also tried the presentation with Microsoft Power Point 2002 SP3 and had no
problems. Each slide transistion took 1 to 2 seconds to complete.

Oo version: 2beta2
Os: winxp sp2
Proc: intel mobile 2.0 ghz
Mem: 1gb ddr2
Vid: nvidia geforce go 6600 te

All of my drivers are updated and I was unable to replicate the bug with my
configuration. I opened the file with impress and it imported it just fine.
I continued by running a slide show and shifting through the slides. I
noticed a spike of 30% cpu usage everytime I transitioned through slides on
avg, but the transition time was not very slow, maybe 2 or 3 seconds. I
continued to check whether the program would crash when exitting the slideshow
and I did not experience any problems. I also ran the document in powerpoint
with no problems.

We were unable to reproduce this bug. As stated in some of the comments it
could be because the Videocards of the systems we used were GeForce's and not of
the ATI line. The slideshow worked great in both systems and didn't slow down a
bit.

Computer: Dell PC
OS: Windows XP Home Edition Version 2002 Service Pack 2
OpenOffice Version: OpenOffice 2.0 Beta 2
Processor: Pentium 4 CPU 1.80 GHz
Memory: 52.6 GB, 256 RAM
Video: ATI Radeon 9600 Series

I tested this on WinXp using Openoffice 2.0 Beta 2. The results were the following:

When using WinXp I was able to reproduce the bug whenever I did the following:
1.) Open Openoffice Impress
2.) Click on the open file icon in the toolbar
3.) Select the transparents_solucom.ppt file
4.) Click on the Slideshow option
The first slid is extremely slow and when finish, I receive a display driver
stooped responding, the atiduag display driver has stopped working normally
message and the color on my screen becomes disorder. Afterwards, I tried editing
the slides in PowerPoint and select different slide transitions but when I view
the slideshow of the new slides in Impress, it always gives me the same error.
However, when you edit the slides transitions in Impress, I did not receive a
problem in the slide show except with the following transitions:
1.) The Undercover transitions
2.) The Cover Transitions
3.) The Push Transitions

Sometimes the display driver would crash right after I applied the new
transition to the slides and always crash in the slideshow. It also makes no
difference where the transition is at in the slides or its speed. I put a single
transition slide at the end and the middle of 20 slides and use the different
speed options (slow, medium, and fast).

Microsoft PowerPoint on the other hand, is capable of viewing the file as a
slideshow. If OpenOffice is going to compete as an alternative office software
suite, it is important that it should be able to behave similar to PowerPoint if
not better under certain conditions. And in the case of being able to insert
transitions between slides into a presentation is an important feature in a
slide show program and therefore this bug should be considered important and
attempted to be fixed as soon as possible.

(Justin Kelley 9/11/2005)

My specs are as follows:
- OO 2.0 Beta
- Dell Dimension XPS PC
- Windows XP Professional SP2
- Pentium 4 3.8 GHz Processor
- 2.0 GB DDR RAM

I imported the attached file into Impress but was unable to replicate this
bug. The slide transitions took 1-2 seconds and there was no delay. I then
opened the ppt file attached in MS PowerPoint, resaved and reopened in
Impress. Again, once I hit the “Slide Show†button Impress did not crash.

Considering many people need to open and run ppt files in Impress, I would
think this would be an important issue to resolve. Perhaps certain features
in Impress require too much overhead, just a gander.

@all: except for computerhotline, all 'can reproduce' reports are duplicates of
issue 48454.

@computerhotline: the only distinction in your report from issue 48454 is the
reported crash of _Impress_. Could you please (this is the second request) send
a crash report of OOo, and post the crash report ID within this issue? Or was it
actually _Windows_ that crashed on you?

Otherwise, according to the other reporters, I'd set this issue to duplicate.
