Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 5193
Cannot add or delete points in a Belzier Curve/Line in Spreadsheet Application
Last modified: 2013-08-07 15:12:27 UTC
The "Edit Points" function in the spreadsheet application only allows you to "move points" in a line or belzier curve. The user cannot "add" or "delete points" to the selected line because those buttons are not displayed in the ObjectBar as they are in the word processor and presentation applications. This interface is inconsistant with the capabilities in the other OpenOffice applications and seriously degrades the utility of the spreadsheet application.
Hi, maybe one of those mysteries of the drawing layer. ;-) Best regards, Peter
Set to new.
That is no mystery or bug but intended. Set to Falko for further information.
Any for this, Niklas? If not, than please behave the way Writer, Draw and Impress does.
There is no separate shell for bezier editing in Calc. The object bar handling in Writer and Draw is different, too: In Draw only the bezier bar is active, in Writer the bezier and drawing bar can be toggled. Before changing anything we need a more complete specification of what we want. But for 1.1, it's too late for such UI changes anyway.
It would be nice to have the same tools offered in the UI for Bezier curves in Calc as in Writer and Impress. Thus we need to have the same toolbar component available in Calc. But this is nothing for 2.0 anymore.

Corrected Component.
in 1.9m128 all components (writer, impress, draw, even base) except calc display identical toolbar named "edit points" when point editing is enabled. is this old issue the one where this problem is taken care of ?
Hi, I ran into the same problem here. I cannot insert points in a polygon in Calc, the way i can do that in writer. I am using version 2.1. I think all components should behave the same way, and we should have the same toolbar available in Calc. Greetz.. Gerco-Kees
There is a workaround by the way, Just copy your polygon from calc to writer, insert or delete your point there, and copy the polygon back....
To grep the issues easier via "requirements" I put the issues currently lying on my owner to the owner "requirements".
