Last modified: 2017-05-20 11:08:41 UTC
Version: openoffice.org 1.9.121 Environment: Chinese Win2000 professional Scenario 1: 1. Open a powerpoint file (with traditional chinese character) with Impress; 2. Highlight a page with traditional chinese character(s) 3. Goto tool->language->chinese translation->"trad chinese to simpl. chinese" without click the common term, press ok. 4. It process and finish with a dialog box "Spellcheck of entire document has been completed" - Problem 1: The selected page is not translated and remain unchange; Problem 2: It seems it run the Spellcheck function instead. PS: I try the chinese translation function in the same machine in calc and writer and no problem was discovered so far. I also try a 2nd scenario with creating a presentation file from zero using Impress, typing some traditional chinese characters and the translation fail exactly the same as scenario 1.
Created attachment 28259 [details] self created file as described in scenario 2
Reproducible.
Reassigned.
I just download the OO v2.02 today and test above issue (Powerpoint 2000 SP3 is used in this test). For scenario 1, 1. I open a powerpoint file (with traditional chinese character) with Impress; 2. Goto tool-> lanaguage-> chinese translation->"trad chinese to simpl. chinese" without click the common term, press ok. 3. It perform the conversion. However, a few problems are found: a. the font for the simplified chinese are not consistent (2 different fonts are found in the chinese character); b. Regardless of whether you manually change the fonts to one or not, you save the result file as PPT and open in powerpoint again, you will notice the simplified chinese characters in 2 different fonts, with some of the character in itatic also. I am not sure whether it is the conversion problem or not. I also try to copy and paste this trad. chinese character from problem.odp to new PPT file, save it and perform the step in above scenario and the result is similar.
