Description mjneedles 2005-08-01 04:32:57 UTC
This discovered by:

1) create a frame
2) using the Frame (formating) toolbar, Frame Border Style icon, set border to
single, 4pt.

The resulting border is not 4.0 pts, but looks more like about 2.0 pts.

3) Right-click on frame and select Frame... dialog, click the Borders tab
4) In the Style dropdown, note that 2.0 pts does not appear, but 2.5pts does.
This is not the same as on the Frame-Border-Style dropdown of the toolbar.
5) Set to 4.0 pts, and close dialog.

Border thickness is now 4.0 pts.

I know I'm describing two issues in one, but they are related, and could both be
fixed at the same time.

BTW, this is in version 1.9.117 on Fedora Core 4, but it probably not OS dependent.
Comment 2 mjneedles 2005-08-01 04:52:36 UTC
platform should read "PC", not "SGI"
Comment 3 thorsten.martens 2005-08-03 08:52:44 UTC
The first problem wasn´t reproducible in a more recent m122 build.

TM->SBA: Please have a look at the second problem. Different values for Border
thickness in frame-contextmenu and menu of border style button. Thanks !

ES->OS: as discussed. Both problems are reproducible and have the same root cause.

Regression 1.1.x -> 2.0 = 2.0.3

I replicated this problem with OpenOffice.org 2.0 and Linux Fedora Core 4,
kernel version 2.6.14-1.1656_FC4.
The reproducing steps are:
1)	create a new HTML Document
2)	select Insert/Frame to create a frame, use default parameters
3)	select the Frame, and then click the button “Line Styleâ€, select 4pt in the
pop-up window
Now the border is shown, but seems thinner than expected.
4)	Right click on the frame, and select Frame; in the pop-up dialog window,
click on the Borders tab and set Line Style to 4pt, and then click ok
Now the border is much thicker than before, although Line Style is set in same
value.

I also did several follow-up tests
1)	if use 1pt instead of 4pt, same problem happen
2)	if set to 5pt when click the button “Line Styleâ€, it is actually equivalent
to setting border to 2.5pt in Format Frame Borders dialog.

I guess the correspondence between two way of setting Line Style is that setting
up using toolbar button is actually set half value, i.e, if set 2pt, it's
actually 1pt; if set 4pt, it's actually 2pt.
