Description jarno 2005-10-10 17:27:12 UTC
Opening this MS Excel file (attachment) crashes Calc. The file seems to contain
embedded AutoCad image. I have tried opening this file with OO 2.0 rc2, rc1,
Beta 2, and with several earlier versions too, having always the same problem.
MS Excel 2003 opens the file just fine. I also tried to save the Excel file in
Office 97 format, but that didn't help either.

I just tested with Win 2000 & OO 1.1.5 combination, did not work either. Excel
97 opens the file ok.

Confirming issue.
The crash occurs when Calc is calculating the contents of the file

The file opens fine in Gnumeric, and the vector drawing objects can be
individually manipulated.

Not a Prio 1 task as the Application itself works as defined for other files
Comment 7 alex.thurgood 2005-10-25 16:11:39 UTC
Hmmm, I don't recall setting the priority to P1, but hey, nobody's perfect ;-)

P3 is for bugs that cause a crash only in special circumstances. What is so
special about a group of drawing objects in a spreadsheet. IMHO, this should be
a P2.

- Crashes in basic functionality, i.e. the import of the file
- Basic functionality is not working correctly, because you can't open the file

Hi Daniel,

Comment 9 daniel.rentz 2005-10-26 17:54:19 UTC
Already fixed in OOo 2.0.1 with reimplementation of drawing layer import (issue
47246). Reason for the crash: OLE object and connectors embedded in grouped
objects.
